I have the honour to inform you that Sir Robert Ho Tung who is at present at Tsingtau for reasons of health has sent me an order on his bankers for 850,000 with the request that I would apply it to whatever purposes in connection with the wor I should deem best. In view of the appeals which have

been made for aeroplanes and for the assistance of the Red Cross

and St. John of Jerusalem Societies I have remitted £3,000 to the

Overseas Club in London for the purchase and presentation to the

Military Authorities of 2 aeroplanes and £1,90 to the Red Cross

Society for the purchase of Kotor Ambulances, either boat or wheeled, and upkeep of same.

I have telegraphed to Sir Robert Ho Tung that

I much appreciate his generous gift and I am writing to him to

tell him that I have reported it to you. of 33003

I take this opportunity of/infoming you in

continuation of my code telegram of the 16th, Rovember that as a

result of the appeal made locally on behalf of the Red Cross and

St. John of Jerusalem Societies subscriptions mounting to £1,330

have been received and sent to Lord Lansdowne.
